Argentog - Dr. Teeth Psychatog Edition
After 1 week of registration period, 25 players signed up for the tournament. Although there was a decrease in the number of players compared to the first edition, little by little the community that plays webcam in Argentina were consolidated, with special participants from Chile (Alvaro Durandal) and Guatemala (Julio Monterroso).
In the group stage, the players were randomly divided into 5 groups in which each player had 4 games to play.
After two weeks of group stage and 43 games played, the cut of the Top 8 was made, in which we had three players with a 4-0 record, highlighting Sebastian Rodriguez (Landstill), Maximiliano Argüello Sosa (Aluren) and Nicolas Rupcic (Reanimator) in the first three places.
In the lower positions, Nicolas Poggioli (RW Rifter) and GP (Merfolks) made the top with 7th and 8th positions, who qualified with a 3-1 record but with a winrate greater than 60%.
The meta in the Top 8 we can see 8 different archetypes, where combo, control and aggro were represented.
Sebastian Rodriguez (Landstill) reached the final after beating Merfolks and RW Rifter, and Nicolas Fama (GWR Astral Slide) after beating the previous Argentog champion with RG Goblins and Aluren. If we stop at Nicolas' deck, we will find a Midrange deck that is very prepared to combat aggro decks, with Swords to Plowshares, Astral Slide to Lightning Rift to control the battlefield, flexibility with Burning Wish and as a wincon some Terravore's that will grow quickly through the cycling lands and the Devastating Dreams.
In the finals, Landstill beat GWR Astral Slide 2-0 in a very favorable match for control, demonstrating again that the UW deck was, is and will be one of the strongest archetypes in the format.
